I setup a web cam from my friend and tried to record the previous posted finger exercise again. This time I played faster. The beat per minute is 120 and unchanged. That means, you see what I have actually played.
The xvid and mp3 codec is necessary. Then you can click on the next link and watch the 1MB and 1 minute video. The video quality is low. When I get the change, I will record the same with better quality. (more…)
I practiced the guitar for two hours and thought to try the video/audio recording. The file size is about 300 kilobytes and low video quality. But it’s fairly enough to see my hands moving. (more…)
After three weeks, I’ve memorized the song “I’m Alright” that plays about 5 minutes — see also my previous post.
Although the BPM is at 129, the most part is played with 8th notes. The most difficult is the picking; for instance, you skip one or more strings while you pick. However I used both alternate (continuous up and down) and economy (down - down - up - up) picking.
However I will continue with the next song 
I’m printing the Tab’s for “Canon Rock in D”. I think it fits my taste.
Probably many guitar players pick a cheap guitar at first. Actually this is logical because some players may stop practicing and leave the guitar in the box. However after a long practice, maybe a few years, you should consider to take a professional guitar.
I got my new guitar yesterday. It’s impressive and it plays slight that means, when I press a note, I can hold my finger very slight, and will still receive a great tone. Maybe I should have avoid waiting so long to get it, but it’s fine now.
However on the old guitar I was holding and pressing the notes stronger to receive a good tone and became tired early. Now it is a bit of familiarization to play very slight.
It’s so great to play on my new guitar. Compared to my old the new is slight, super comfortable, and easy to play. I’m very glad having picked the RG350 from Ibanez; cable, manual, everything was included.
I was really blessed today. When I was on the phone and talking with the guy at the music store, he thought, the guitar will be available tomorrow or one day later and that was what he said. However two hours later I received a call and went to pick up my new guitar. While I was at the store, the same guy said, it is a special occurrence that the guitar arrived at this short time, it never occured before.
Finally after a few months of sparing money, I own enough to buy my new and preferred guitar.
Today I called music store and asked for the Ibanez RG350. It was out of stock and unavailable. However, I was told, it will be available tomorrow or one day after.
I’m very glad and waiting for the notification to pick up my new electric guitar!
Last month I chatted with a friend and he sent a link to a modern guitar solo. I watched it again and again and was impressed. It’s called “Canon” and was originally composed by Pachelbel Johann in the sixteenth century.
Soon I found the tabs at JerryC’s website. I’ve watched all videos and his playing was impressive. Since one week I try to memorize one of the songs he performed called “I’m Alright”, and will continue with “Canon”.
When I practice the guitar, I try to learn new stuff and avoid repeating one and the same pattern the whole week. It is exciting to learn new music and swap back and forth.
Finally I’m almost done with the first song and hopefully will borrow a digital camera and record my playing.

My current guitar from Washburn Lyon series is used up a lot. I don’t know anyone who has practiced the guitar more than myself. For about three years I was playing and exercising during my free time, probably 50 hours per week. It was fun.
Then I took a long break, playing rarely for about two years — I was busy. But later I was involved in guitar teaching, therefore I got back to it.
However I am having trouble with the strings and need a replacement every month – of course, I use Elixir strings, the most powerful and strength strings on the market. It’s not funny to replace them so often, but I have no choice, my fingers hurt.
Later I understood the issue is the guitar itself not the strings. The guitar’s neck is getting more and more greened, I would disagree to play live because it looks ugly.
Although I use to spare money, I would need more to reach the required sum for a new and professional guitar. I like the guitars from Ibanez and its RG series especially the one displayed in the picture, the RG350. Actually it looks like my old one, the colors are similar. The difference however are the features included: special formatted neck, wood, bridge, etcetera. All work is done by hand therefore expensive.
By the way today I added a new Guitar Lesson “Warm up”. It is about how to start exercising.
